The Product That SAVED My Skin

Yes you read right, the product that saved my skin. The product I'm talking about is Mudd Original Deep Cleansing Clay Mask.
But before I start this review let me give you a background on my skin.

I have actually been very fortunate for the most part when it comes to my skin, I very rarely would get spots and my skin was never overly dry or oily so I had it pretty good! I had people tell me how 'great' my skin was and for the longest time I thought they were having a laugh as I was embarrassed by that 'one spot' on my chin.
Well recently this all changed. My skin would be classified as 'combination skin'(an oily T-zone and dry cheeks in my case) and sensitive but all of a sudden my face was getting dry patches everywhere being extremely dehydrated, I was getting loads of spots more so of those horrible ones under your skin that make the surface of your face all bumpy and uneven. My skin was lifeless with no colour in it at all. It was awful my makeup wasn't sitting right and it was only when I was editing my recent haul video that I saw the extent of how crap my skin was, granted I had had my makeup on all day but it was just awful.

In that haul video I said how I had bought this clay Mudd mask in boots on a whim because my sister and I decided we would do a face mask that evening as a treat it cost €7.89 in Boots. The mask is 100% made of pure clays, contains 'special minerals' to help absorb excess oil, deeply embedded makeup & dirt. It helps to control blackheads as it tones and tightens the skin, it won't clog your pors as It's non-comedogenic and it doesn't contain lanolin
When I first put it on my face not going to lie it stung a little and I was very close to taking it off because as I said I have sensitive skin but I said I'd leave it on for a minute and if it still stung I'd take it off, needless to say it calmed down and I was set with my 15 minute alarm on my phone. While I waited I sent 'snap chat' photo's to my Friends and tried to move my mouth while the clay dried, it was all very grown up of me.
The alarm sounded so I proceeded to take the mask off with a damp face cloth. Straight away my skin felt as smooth as a babies bottom. I applied some moisturiser and decided not to make a verdict right away as a lot of the time these things have amazing results right away but after a few hours your skin is back to where it was.

The next day however my skin still felt wonderful, my makeup went on with ease and for the first time in ages my skin actually looked good with my rosie cheeks back and without all the dry patches and bumps, I was delighted!
My skin feels super soft and the colour has returned!
I have no makeup on in these 2 picture's
As I sit here and type I've had my makeup on all day and my skin still feels wonderful so the verdict is for sure that this is a new holy grail product! I'm going to try use it every week to keep the results up but will definitely use it if my skin acts up again for sure.

I encourage you all to try this right now and let me know how you get on,

A very happy blogger signing off,

Shrove Tuesday & Lush

Today I received an email from Lush tittled 'SHROVE TUESDAY: Shower Your Body with Lemon and Sugar'. I was intrigued as I'm a Catholic and kinda take these things seriously(the eating of the pancakes included) so I read on and thought I'd share with you all the products that they are promoting in the essence of shrove Tuesday.

So first we have Lemony Flutter cuticle butter (€9.45  for 50g).
This is as it says a moisturiser for your cuticles but can be used for more then just your nails. It can help soften hard skin on places like your elbows, hands(we all know how i am with my dry hands!) and feet. Lemon juice is rich in vitamins so this and a mix of some lovely oils are basically what do all the softening. I haven't tried this but it sounds like it would smell amazing if anything else!

Then something that I know I would like is the Popcorn lip scrub (€6.75).
I have tried lip scrubs from lush in the past and loved them. You basically massage some of the product on your lips, wipe away and you're left with soft lips! It's as simple as that! I get chapped lips all the time(hence why I stay away from matte lippy's a lot) so this is a game changer for me, it's reminded me to go in and pick up a new one, so maybe I'll try this new popcorn flavour, I wonder if it really does taste like popcorn..

The final thing I'm going to talk about is this cream eye shadow from the emotional brilliance range 'Lifted' (€17.95)
Now this is well very yellow and although I'm trying to be more daring with colour and trying to step outside my comfort zone a little this seems a little much for me. I'll have to go in and have a little swatch though before I write it off completely!

So there are some products from Lush inspired by the lemon and sugar that will fill everyone's homes this Tuesday. Are you interested in any of the products I've spoken about? Be sure to check Lush's website to see all of their lovely things.

Happy Thursday!
Love and Kisses,

Lush Pamper Evening: Review

I treated myself to a relaxing bath with my book(that I am struggling so so hard to get through..) and a face mask both of which were possible thanks to Lush.

I've always loved bath bombs because I love to watch them fizzle in the bath and turn the water some funky colour.
This particular night I was trying out the 'Big Blue Bath Bomb' and the 'Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask'

The bath bomb turned my water blue straight away as it broke apart releasing all it's goodness which included bits of seaweed (which is harvested in Japan, Peru and the North Pacific Coast. OoO). To make the bath even more like the sea Lush have added both coarse sea salt as well as fine salt. The lavender oil and the lemon oil relaxed me to the point where reading my book was a no-go as my eyes were growing heavy. As soon as I got out of the bath I could feel my skin was incredibly soft. So much so that I gave the body moisturiser a miss that night. I know. I live on the wild side.

While I lay in the bath I tried out the fresh face mask. I'm a huge fan of any products that include honey. I don't really know why as I am not a very big on honey it's self but it's something about products that include it that just works wonders for my skin. The idea behind the mask is that it's like a detox for your skin so that when you're worked to the extreme you can give it a bit of a rejuvenation. The honey of course is what moisturises, the sage and rosemary infusions act as antiseptics,  the ginger breaks down the dead skin cells on your face, Ground almond shells act as a stimulating scrub to lift away dead grey skin and so many other ingredients that do all the lovely things to your skin to make it look more awake and feel great!

I found the mask a little hard to apply but then again I have found that with a lot of the lush products. I think this is because the ingredients are so pure and fresh so they don't contain all those weird preservatives that normal products would. Th smell is basically ginger and honey mixed together in my opinion.(not a huge fan of the smell of honey and ginger in the first place so didn't like the smell but if you do like those two things you will like this smell!). My skin was flake free and lovely and soft afterwards. So again a happy bunny!

So all in all I was a very relaxed happy camper after my evening of lush! I've loved lush ever since my friend properly introduced me to it 3 years ago where I spent close €100 on my first trip... whoops!

Check out Lush's website for all of their lovely products and prices

What are your favourite products from Lush? Mine have to be the bath bombs, jellies and body wash.

Until next time,

Love & Kisses,
